Volunteer Job Descriptions
Meet Set-Up & Clean-Up (Home meets only): Sets up the pool deck for meet or clean-ups the pool deck after a meet.
Concessions (Home meets only): Assists the concession coordinator by maintaining the concession area during the meets. They may also assist with setup/take down.
Shrimp Pop Hand Out (Shrimp Families ONLY): This position hands out icy pops and I Did My Best Ribbons to the 6 and under swimmers.
Starter (Home meets only): This position should only be filled by a volunteer with some experience but we can train you. Starts the races and is responsible for keeping the meet running efficiently.
Asst starter/paddle person (Home meets only): Ensures all timers are ready. Signals to Starter that everyone is ready for the next event.
Clerk of Course (Home meets only): Requires a little training.
Line the swimmers up on benches prior to their races in a designated area of the pool so that they are ready for their events. Makes sure swimmers are at the starting blocks at the appropriate time for their races.
Stroke/Turn Judge -
Requires some training.
Works with other teams stroke/turn judges at each meet to ensure that legal strokes are being used by swimmers. Here is the link to the YouTube training videos. It takes about 40 minutes to complete all 7 short videos.

Runners (Home meets only): Takes the time sheets and any disqualifications to the scorekeeper table.
Score Keeper: Enters swimmers times into software program and prints the stickers for the ribbons.
Timers and Back Up Timer (Limit 3 per family): Use a stop watch in assigned lanes to determine the finish times in the races. Timers work in teams of 2 with at least 1 timer from each team in each lane.
Ribbon Coordinator (Limit 3 per family): Responsible for putting the computer-generated sticker on each ribbon. This job doesn't get going until the second half.
