Good Morning Stingray parents!

The first day of summer swim practice was as expected....CHAOS!  It's ALWAYS CHAOS the first one or two days of summer swim as the kids are releasing pent-up excitement and lack proper instructions on what the swim practice protocol will be.  Thankfully for us, the chaos did not go beyond day 1 and Coach Paige and our wonderful assistant coaches had them marching in a straight line on the second day of practice.  The rest of the week was easy peasy!  Did I spell that right?  One thing we realized which we all agreed was a smart play this week, our first group was allowed to stay for an extended 30 minute practice session when they were done on the second day of practice.  It worked out so well that we are making this change permenant.  I encourage all of you to allow your swimmers the extra practice time as this will only make them better and stronger during the very short season we're about to encounter.   

I want to thank you all for your cooperation this week and for trusting the process.  I also want to take this time to thank the wonderful parents who have stepped in to help this week while our assistant coaches had scheduling conflicts.  We were blessed with some beautiful afternoon weather which provided a much-needed and appreciated dip in the water with the kids that required the extra help.   

Before I wrap this email up, please remember to register your swimmers for the Mock Meet on Saturday May 30th.  It is scheduled for 8am to 10am and is an important meet for Coach Paige to have a baseline on stroke and times that she can use to seed for our first meet that Monday.  Registration for the mock meet will close on Thursday May 28th at 5pm.  Remember, registration happens directly on our site when you select the mock meet and you're logged in.  It will automatically take you to the swimmer declaration page where you can do this for every meet now if you already know your child will be available for the future meets.  If your kids are year-round swimmers, please send me a quick note so that I can pull all their times for Coach Paige.  

Finally, there is NO SWIM on Monday due to the Memorial Day Holiday weekend observation.
